Kudos to both you and greg. This is a tough situation, to be sure.
Maybe Elijah should have just come clean about the swap right after Amelia's accident, at least to Oliver and the other people closest to him and Amelia. He could have shown them the magic tree to prove it. But it might be dangerous if word about the tree got out, so could he have gotten them all to keep it a secret...?
Probably would have been for the best to reveal what happened earlier than later. But Elijah probably thought his sister was going to wake up within the week. Not wanting to embarrass himself or Amelia, he decided to keep it a secret. But as the weeks turned into months, it just became more and more awkward to reveal what had happened.
@Rook: Yeah, I can imagine the lie snowballing like that. Imagine what Oliver would have thought, even after just a couple of weeks. Out of all the reasons to swap bodies with your sister, though, lending her your body to lift some furniture has got to be the least embarrassing.
@greg: Execution might be more important than concept, but that doesn't mean concept isn't worth anything. If you don't want much credit, though, it's not like I can force you to take it.

Don't 'kudos' me. I just threw a pitch in a comment section and did absolutely no work.

Sounds like Oliver is a big winner in this story! I like it!

After two years? Yeah, I can see why he wouldn't want to give up that body. lol
ReplyDeleteI wonder what time frame would be appropriate for calling a body your own. After all, they say possession is 9/10ths of the law...
